En la próxima entrada en el blog estará la presentación que tratamos hace dos días, el 3 de Noviembre. Reunimos 37 líderes de los 7 municipios de La Frontera de Intibucá. Presentes estaban 3 de los directores distritales, 2 miembros del departamento municipal, 3 presidentes de los padres de familia, 4 directores de los institutos, muchos profesores de matemáticas y ciencias del nivel del colegio y también de las escuelas. Además había el equipo educativo de Hombro a Hombro incluyendo Dr. Dick Buten de la junta directiva. Presentamos nuestra misión de CREE, lo que hemos hecho hasta ahora y la visión de expansión. Nuestra prioridad con este proyecte es que sea hecho con una estructura de sostenibilidad. Ya hay acuerdo con Suyapa, la Directora Departamental, que ella va a apoyarnos y patrocinarnos en la misión. El proyecto va a estar suyo, no de nosotros. Planteamos esta visión en la reunión con el deseo que los profesores se adaptarán como líderes y dueños del proyecto. Creemos de todos los ideas estaban recibidos bien y con brazos abiertos de colaboración. Este fue un buen punto de inicio y un punto muy importante para la expansión del proyecto. Después de algunos años de investigación e experimentación, empezaremos el próximo año en Febrero con toda La Frontera de Intibucá en la misma página para poder seguir adelante.

The next blog post will have the slides that compose the presentation that was given two days ago, November 3. Present at the meeting were 37 leaders from the 7 municipalities in the zone know as the “Frontier” of Intibucá. Attendance included 3 district directors (superintendents), 2 members of the Department of Intibucá (of the Ministry of Education), 3 presidents of parents associations, 4 high school directors (principals), and many math and science professors from both high schools and elementary schools. We also had our education mission team from Shoulder to Shoulder present, along with Dr. Dick Buten from the board of directors of StS. We presented our education mission known as CREE, what we have done up until this point, and our vision for expansion. Our priority with this project is that it would be carried out under a sustainable structure. Suyapa – the director of the department of Intibucá, of the ministry of education – has agreed to support and sponsor our mission. The project will belong to her, not us. We planted this vision to all those present in the meeting with the hope that we would get some professors to adapt as leaders and owners of the project. We believe that our ideas were received well with open arms for collaboration. This was a great start and a very important point for the expansion of the project. After the past few years filled with research and experimentation, we will start next school year in February with all of the Frontier of Intibucá on the same page to move forward.
