Who are They?

The star teacher program was born with the good intention of rewarding outstanding teachers in the use of the Kolibri platform. We wanted to highlight those professors who were going above and beyond 'just implementation', who had creative solutions to engage students, who were helping other professors fall in love with Kolibri, and more! This group of teachers is also the unconditional support for other teachers who are still in the learning process – serving as the face of the Kolibri program in community.

Each teacher is a living testimony of the impact that digital education can have on children who live in the most rural areas, places where families struggle every day for a daily livelihood. Without this group of teachers, our work would be much harder.

How Are They Selected?

This process is quite tedious and difficult because there are several teachers who are very outstanding. What's more, there are some who face very precarious situations: without electricity in school, without access to transportation, but with a great desire to teach. To select them we take into account their performance, communication with us and data from usage reports. We have selected cohorts as listed below, except for in 2022.

Recognition

We have now had several cohorts of STAR teachers. We invite them all once a year to our offices to celebrate their achievements, welcome new members, and share experiences to learn from each other. We buy food, and each one receives a diploma of excellence and a small cash incentive.
