Have you stopped to think about what the world would be like if all children had the opportunity to receive a quality education? We all dream of a system in which all students and teachers have access to the necessary resources to have more dynamic and fun teaching learning experience. However, this is a very big challenge that can not be achieve by a single entity, we need to join forces.
We, as shoulder to shoulder in partnership with you and many other great donors, we have the opportunity to deliver a better education to our students from Intibucá and Lempira. It is critical that our students learn to read and write Spanish, be competent in their math abilities, and learn English to open up new employment opportunities.
Kolibri Launching 2024
This February 15th, 2024, we celebrated our first Kolibri Launching event. At this event, the Department of Education Director, Municipal directors, mayors, teachers, TV show reporters, and technical information people were present. This event had two main purposes. One was to inform the world about our trajectory, achievements, and goals in the education sector, and the second was to reward the schools that became part of our star schools program in 2023. Departmental director Gloria Albertina García Santos was in charge of giving the speech allusive to the event. Her words were compiled for everyone in the audience. Director Gloria challenged teachers to do their best with the resources they have on hand, as she literally said: "Kolibri provides students with official Honduran textbooks and engaging videos to enhance their learning experience. We have witnessed the positive impact of using this resource"
This event was an excellent opportunity to emphasize the importance of using technological resources correctly; as she continues saying, this year, I am determined to ensure that all Kolibri laptops and tablets are being used effectively. If you are not interested in using them, we can easily transfer them to another teacher or school who would benefit from them." What an impactful speech it was!

We are making history
It is very satisfying to sit down and remember what we have achieved over the years. Kolibri began operating in two schools with only 60 children. However, our dream of reaching more children throughout the department did not give up. Now, we are pleased to announce that more than 17,000 children and young people are learning through the Kolibri platform.

Community-supported expansions
During these months, we have been receiving requests. More teachers, parents, and mayors are interested in changing the teaching and learning method through the use of Kolibri.
From the hand of God and our donors, we will continue to provide this opportunity for quality education to the most vulnerable corners of Honduras.
