It is the beginning of the year, and each person or entity is preparing for a new start. In Honduras, while the political citizenry thoroughly prepares every detail for the change of government, in Intibucá Shoulder to Shoulder is preparing to equip more than 4,500 young people from 7th-9th grade with tablets and 100+ teachers with computers as basic tools to have a successful academic year.
Thanks to the generosity of the Inter-American Development Bank (IADB) we distributed 3,500 tablets and 120+ computers around Intibucá, plus 1,000 tablets that were donated by the USA Embassy which were given to students living in the dry corridor of la Frontera.
In 2021, 52 educational centers in the department of Intibucá obtained tablets with all the digital school textbooks for every 7th, 8th, and 9th-grade student and a computer for each teacher of these grades.

It is worth mentioning that this technological equipment was distributed in each school a few months before the end of the school year. Teachers and students had little time to explore the wonder of the program, still, they delivered excellent results. These actions are what motivate us to continue looking for mechanisms to improve this unique educational tool.
In order to fulfill our commitment to educational progress, at the end of the 2021 academic year, we decided to collect back all the tablets and computers to update the content on the Kolibri platform and the CREE channel and retrieve usage statistics. Through these updates, we hope to achieve more constant monitoring, since it will be remote. Likewise, students will have in their hands the most updated digital educational content.
All the equipment ready to be updated. We call this place "our tablet factory"
This job may seem simple and quick, but it actually involves a lot of details and time. Tablets from one school can only be updated by connecting to the computer belonging to that specific educational center. This is a cautious job, each educational center has a specific number of tablets that were given to them registered by its serial number at the beginning of the project, therefore, by no means can the tablets of one educational center be mixed with others.

We are a small team, but our forces are multiplied by imagining how much we can contribute to the successful future of this generation of students. We hope to have all this equipment ready and delivered early March.
From the bottom of our hearts, we thank each donor for contributing to this successful project!
