Shoulder to Shoulder for the Children finds it fascinating to observe how young toddlers pick up new abilities using small pieces of legos. We would like to share the news that preschoolers are getting ready to compete in the upcoming departmental Lego construction competition, which is scheduled for July.
A conference/training with the directors of each pre-school education institution in the Intibucá department was convened on April 8 to discuss the various regulations and the penalties that can be imposed for breaking any of them.

This year, an alliance was formed with the Departmental Director of Education in Intibucá to promote STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education at the pre- school level. This type of education in the little ones allows them to explore, build, and share what they have learned with the world around them. Likewise, we believe that children beginning to solve problems from a young age is very valuable since this reduces the fear of learning about new technologies. In this way, we have competitive young people in the work environment, solving daily life problems and using the STEM education they have developed since very young age.

Getting ready for the 2024 competition
Seeing children happy to attend the LEGO building competition is truly exciting. This year, we have ten teams at the departmental level. These teams are committed to developing in this area of modern education.
It is pleasant to see the excitement of children when talking about LEGOS and to hear them say:
- When will the competition be? -This color would look good on a house. Can we build a house and a cart? What if we start making the walls? Let's build our town! They are very motivated for what is about to happen.
Nothing like this would have been possible without all your great support. On this occasion, we would like to send a very special thanks to our friend Sally for being a liaison and helping us provide such a wonderful learning experience to our little ones.
