Alliance for Education in Honduras

📚 Education opens doors, transforms lives, and builds futures filled with hope.

In a historic moment for Honduran children and youth, Shoulder to Shoulder has signed a cooperation agreement with the Ministry of Education of Honduras, reaffirming its commitment to the country’s educational transformation. This milestone marks the continuity and expansion of projects in digital education and STEAM, promoting inclusion and ensuring that learning opportunities reach those who need them most.

Through this agreement, more than 25,000 students in 150 schools across 19 municipalities will gain access to cutting-edge educational technology. From preschool to high school, these projects provide high-quality digital resources, including the National Basic Curriculum, as well as thousands of enrichment materials such as videos, interactive exercises, simulations, and STEM games. All of this is delivered through the Kolibri educational platform, along with departmental programs in reading and robotics, tailored to different age groups.

The positive results achieved in previous years—improvements in academic performance and personal development—have encouraged the signing of new memorandums of understanding with the Departmental Directorates of Intibucá and Lempira. Likewise, the interest of 19 municipal governments and four inter-municipal associations strengthen the sustainability and scalability of these projects, contributing valuable resources and consolidating a collective effort in favor of education.

Shoulder to Shoulder’s commitment is clear and unwavering: to bring life-changing opportunities, free of charge and without the need for internet access, so that knowledge can reach even the most underserved communities in the country.

🙏 We extend our deepest gratitude to the donors, local governments, and the Ministry of Education of Honduras for believing in Honduran children and for continuing to drive projects that illuminate the future of our youth.
