This past November 14,2024 in the picturesque municipality of Dolores Intibucá, a very important meeting of mayors of the MANCURISJ Mancomunidad took place. Shoulder to Shoulder was invited to emphasize the educational progress achieved and the goals that we want to achieve together.
This opportunity was very appropriate to mention the project financed by the American embassy, "One Pair of Hands at a Time," which focuses on expanding STEM education using robotics. Since 2022, we have been working together with the mayors of the municipalities of Yamaranguila, San Miguelito, Dolores and San Juan. These mayors have been investing in technological equipment to benefit more schools.

Our motto of investing behind success is a fact; this day, we delivered a Lego kit to each of these mayors. These kits, along with the robotics training we provide, will enable them to start a robotics team in their schools, fostering a hands-on learning experience. We also plan to organize a competition at the Mancomunidad level, which will not only showcase the students' skills but also inspire others to join the initiative.

Next steps
As we continue to work towards our shared educational goals, the next step is to formalize our collaboration. The MANCURISJ community consists of four municipalities from the Department of Intibucá and two from the Department of Lempira. In order to continue working together effectively, we need to sign letters of understanding with these mayors. These letters will outline our mutual commitments, responsibilities, and the resources we will each contribute to the educational initiatives. We have scheduled this process for next week and look forward to your active participation.
